A huge statue of a wooden conker has been erected in Oxhey Park as part of a £600,000 revamp scheme.

I love it! And I hope it doesn’t get vandalised. I had to stop a heavy 9/10 year old boy climbing up it yesterday by pointing out its a piece of art, not a climbing frame. His mother professed ignorance “Oh, isn’t it for climbing on?” It would be good to have some kind of plaque giving the sculptor’s details and possibly a ‘Keep off the grass’ sign to protect the new turf until it’s settled.
