Allotment News

Paddock Road allotment had its main Padlock gate cut for the second time in a week last night. On Monday night the trading shed had it’s lock cut and door jemmied. We are aware of a number of plot holders having had shed locks cut and  sheds accessed. We believe a bolt cutter is being used.  All events have been reported to the police and we’d ask that the community share and report any information ASAP. Regarding the Oak  tree fire on Attenborough’s Fields we were told that a group of 10 or 11 years olds were seen playing around the tree just prior to the fire.

On a happier note we have a group of local students coming to help develop community plots on Paddock Road allotment next week, this is part of a National Citizen Service event co-ordinated by Waford Football Club Trust. I also hope this event can serve as a catalyst developing communication and community.

Why is the lower gate at the bottom of the green padlocked?

Merry Hill allotments just across the fields had their gate padlock cut and sheds raided last week – so someone is going for them – I would warn anyone on the Oxhey Grange site to remove anything very valuable from the allotments
