News from Friends of Oxhey Park

Hi all friends

We’ll be meeting this Saturday at 10.30 by the cycle bridge to clean up the park again, our first session this year. This is also part of the Watford Spring Clean and the national Clean for the Queen campaigns.  Bromet school pupils did a clean up as part of this last weekend, so the park is looking pretty tidy!  But the riverbank on the north side needs some attention! There are a few trolleys etc in the river that Sandy plans to remove.

We do hope some of you are able to join us.  Or just come for coffee and chat at 11.30!

And a reminder about the following event to be held this Monday…….

Oxhey Park North:  join us on Monday 14 March 2016 anytime between 6.30 -8.30pm at Watford Town Hall to share your views on its future

An area at the north end of Oxhey Park is currently being used as the compound for the contractors building the Watford Health Campus road. The contractors are due to leave the site in early 2017 and this offers a great opportunity to consider the future use of this part of the Park.

Some thoughts on what people would like to see have already been shared with the council but we want to find out more about the community’s views and to share some early thoughts on what could be achieved on the site.

The session on 14 March is a ‘drop in’ so that as many people as possible are able to come along.  There is no need to book – just turn up.  There is parking at the Town Hall – we will reimburse the cost as it is pay and display – make sure you get a ticket!

We hope that some of you can attend to give your views.

See you soon

Happy Springtime
