Due to the current COVID restrictions, we were not able to hold our normal Oxhey Remembrance Service and Community Walk.
As this is such an important occasion, we wanted to mark it, so held a discreet, a small, socially distanced, service that we could share with everyone via social media and the OVEG website.
Rev Richard Lowson, minister of Bushey & Oxhey Methodist church conducted a service on Oxhey Green (Lower Paddock Rd), with Jill Ibbott laying her wreath in memory of her family, followed by Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe, laying a wreath on behalf of the community.
This was followed by a full service at Watford Heath, Rev Richard Lowson, was joined by John Ratcliffe, reciting Remembering and laying a wreath on behalf of the Armed Services. Paul Hudson, Chair of OVEG laid a wreath for the community.
Not able to join the service due to restrictions, the youth of the community, the Brownies, Guides, Beavers, and Scouts, are holding their own services and laying their wreaths. The guides laid hand painted stones along with their wreath.
The WI and Ward Councillors laid their wreaths and paid their respects earlier in the day.
Ian Brameld played the last post, which resonated more this year, piecing the afternoon due to the emptiness of the normally well attended service.

I would like to thank those who arranged the service, contacted the minister and arranged for the wreaths.
